*Algae: (al - gee) encompass several different groups of usually relatively simple living organisms that capture light energy through photosynthesis, converting inorganic substances into simple sugars using the captured energy.   It is estimated that algae produce about 73 to 87 percent of the net global production of oxygen[1]  Some of the earliest life-forms, they played a major role in creating our oxygen-rich atmosphere and just may turn out to play a critical role in salvaging it. Any resemblance to the nickname and last initial of the man who is playing the most critical role of all is purely intentional!
